The Best DAW for Electronic Music
There are many DAWs out there. Ableton Live is the most popular and for good reasons. For starters, many synthesizer and other hardware items come with a free license to Ableton Lite Live which is truly pretty useful. I’ve been using it for years, even though I am about to move up to the Ableton Live Suite version soon after my Apple Mac Studio arrives.
Ableton Live runs on Apple silicon MacOS, Intel silicon MacOS and Windows. While all versions run well, if you’re at a point where you can choose your OS, choose Apple silicon MacOS. I highly recommend the Apple Mac Studio M1 Max & M1 Ultra for a desktop system or the Apple MacBook Pro M1 Pro & M1 Max for a 14″ or 16″ portable. Any Apple M1+ system is an optimum choice as I wrote in Apple M1 is the new DAW performance minimum.
